  • Don't skip the warf ! !

Please be patient with the traffic and pay for the parking...this will be a life experience unlike any other. You will "leave your heart in San Francisco". Worth it!

I lived in San Leandro and whenever someone would visit we'd always visit Fisherman's Wharf. What an awesome place~loved it!! Especially during Fleet Week I have never had so much fun.

  • Too much hype
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/08/07
Maybe the Fisherman's Wharf area is a fun place to go when the weather is cold and dreary! We recently visited on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon and have to say we would have rather been some place else. It's jam packed with tourists, souvenir shops, and stinky street food that did not appeal to us. The views from the Wharf are lovely.

    Had a fantastic time!!!

    Can't wait to go back!!!

I loved watching the seals play. Also, we ate at Bubba Gump's (which I also highly recommend if you are a Forrest Gump fan.)

Worst part: Finding a decent parking place.

  • Tourist Trap
    By gagirl3, 10/21/07
It's well and truly a trap for tourists; cheap souveniers, street side eateries, pan handlers and street entertainers.

One of the most interesting and entertaining characters was the man with the bush, he hides and waits for unsuspecting people to walk by and then shakes his tree and jumps out at them. It's hilarious to watch! Like a ...

  • Nothing special
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/21/07
SF has the same things to do as Myrtle Beach, so I don't see any reason to go there again. They have a cold beach, Ripley's, cheap t-shirt vendors, overpriced electronic shops, hard-to-find parking, and a lame aquarium & arcade. There's fish in the Gulf & Atlantic oceans!

  • One of many things to see and do
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/21/07
The wharf area is good for a walk and there are many restaurants and other things to see and do there. But it is just one of many areas of S.F. that are worth visiting. When I'm in S.F. I always go to China town, Nihonmachi, as well as North Beach. The japanese tea garden is nice as are many of the museums. There is a lot for visitors to go and do while in S.F. proper as well as the surrounding areas.

  • Gimme a break!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/21/07
First, it's not Frisco or San Fran. It's SF or San Francisco or The City. As to the wharf: The attractions are typical of AnyCity, USA (Hard Rock Cafe? Please). And while there is good seafood to be had there, it's way overpriced and usually mediocre. In a city known internationally for its creative food, top-notch chefs, and ...

  • Great day at San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/30/07
I came up to San Francisco to visit some friends last week and had an awesome time. I'd been there in the past but didn't get a chance to fully explore the city. Though North Beach was probably my favorite neighborhood, I have to say I really enjoyed hanging out down in Fisherman's Wharf. I thought it would be like what Time's ...
