  • Breath-taking Views from an Historical Landmark
    By Tony, 03/30/09
While Coit Tower may be a bit hard to get to re: parking sometimes, it's well worth the time investment. The views from this majestic landmark are truly spectacular. Both Bay Area natives and newbies alike always love this special part of San Francisco.

  • beautiful view-but aware the dogs!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/11/08
    I like behind Coit tower.
Since I moved to North Beach, I've often gone up there to read a book and enjoy the view.
BUT there are dogs without leashes.
I've been bitten my book TWICE by these dogs, but the owner said " he loves a book" instead of any apologies....
I also saw that the dog bit tourist's bag and bottle of ...

  • Best daytime view of San Francisco!!!!!
    By Michael, 10/21/08
This is the best daytime view of San Francisco. Bring your camera and a high zoom lens. There are great shots of the Business District, The Ferry Building Market Place, Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco's rolling hills. I do not recommend coming here at night time as Coit tower is closed at night and the trees block most of ...

  • I Love San Francisco
    By JordanM, 01/26/08
Coit Tower is so nice day or night. The grounds are neat and clean. The view is spectacular. We have met the nicest people just by walking around. Our family makes it a point to take a yearly picture there.
It is a little tricky to find if you have never been there, But ask a local and they are never less than helpful and kind, But you can easily find a map to all local points of interest.
We highly recommend Coit Tower and San Francisco.

  • Coit
    By Brandy H, 12/26/07
It was as great view and I really enjoyed the murals. We did not go up to the top, rather just walked the grounds. That was enough as we did not want to pay the fee for all four of us to go to the top.

    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/20/07
The last time I was in San Francisco I went to Coit Tower and it was great! It gives you a great view of everything. I am going back to San Francisco this weekend after being away for 3 years and we are for sure going to Coit Tower again.

  • Nice, fun, and a different view.
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/15/07
Coit Tower is nice, fun, and a different view, but can get a bit cold (even in the summer) due to it's location. It shows some neat SF history and gives you a chance to view the city from the top corner of the Bay.

  • Spectacular 360 view of SF
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/24/06
If you want a 360 degrees view of downtown San Francisco and its surroundings, this is the place to be, on a clear "fog-less" day. Admission price is reasonable at $3.25. Parking would most likely be a problem around Telegraph Hill, so take the bus No. 39. Those who relish a challenge can walk up to the tower, though I wouldn't recommend it.

  • You haven't seen San Francisco...
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/24/06
...until you've seen it from Coit Tower.

When it was first built in the '30's Coit Tower was decried as destroying the SF skyline, now it is unimanagable to see the skyline without it.

Others here say it much better than I do: see the murals. Look for the businessman being held up. See the newsstand with the Daily Worker ...
