Sure, there's no smoking inside, but the entire restaurant sits in a cloud of cigarette smoke. I had to hold my breath on my way in and out. My complaints were dismissed with "Well, they're smoking outside the door, what more do you want?"

Our family has been enjoying the food and the general environment Joe's has to offer for a very long time. I, myself have been going there for the seafood, salad and pasta for over ten years. Joe's has now become my boyfriend and I's choice spot to go eat. Sometimes there is bit of a wait, but I promise it is well worth it.

I have been going to Joe's for thirty year's (1977) and I find a lot of dishes that were very good in the past are not worth ordering now! I liked nothing about Joe's of Westlake. The food is tasteless and does not seem to be freshly prepared (more like frozen then microwaved), waitstaff especially the older waiters are very rude and impatient, and the entire dining area and bathrooms are filthy.

What is so ironic is that the waiters play dress up with a faux waiter's tux as though they and this restaurant are 'high class'. It is the opposite in reality.

I took my friend who is Italian to Westlake Joes and he was skeptical as he is a 5 star Italian restaurant critic. He has been to the best of the best on the east coast. This place he said is phenomenal. Please keep this historic landmark there. nothing else like it anywhere in the country.
