The owner was very nice, but the room was awful. The carpet was very old and stained and bathroom very old and in need of an overhaul. The bathroom was pretty clean aside from a blob of toothpaste on the wall beside the sink. Even though we were not happy with the place we decided it was o.k. because we just needed to sleep there! This is a very nice place to stay, close town (walking distance), clean, home type rooms, nice fireplace. It has all the basics, will stay again.

This little place is great for a weekend, or week, away from everything. It is close enough to the village that you don't have to get into the car to get a cup of coffee (if you don't want to use the unit in your room), a pizza at Idyllwild pizza, or just tour the shopping center known as "The Fort."

We stayed here after reading lots of reviews, and were not disappointed. The rooms are well-equipped, the staff friendly, and the place was clean and welcoming. I like the separate bedroom/living room setup so I could watch TV while my wife napped. I can see why it is so popular, and Idyllwild is a beautiful town with lots to do. We will stay here again.

My wife and I were lucky enough to get a room at the Taquitz inn during the Jazz Festival. Somebody had canceled at the last minute and we got their room. It was really great! We love going to the Tahquitz in summer when the pool and spa are open. It is just a really great place in a great town. We like the big suites and the bbq area too. It is like a condo that you rent for just a weekend... We will be back!
