feel like a celebrity for the evening!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/31/05
Loved everything about this hotel/hot-night-spot! You can honestly bottle up the delicious scent in the lobby of this hotel and sell it!! I can't recall a more refreshing smell...Was it the scent of money? Fresh flowers? And forget about comparing the amazing roof top bar!!! What a view!! What an amazing night on the town...or on the ...

Centrally located, fun but loud
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/16/05
The hotel is in the center of the meat packing district. You don't have to go far for great restaurants and bars. But the downside is that the walls are very thin and its loud. Be drunk to sleep.

Would give it a miss...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/16/05
I have just returned from a 4 day trip to NYC, I booked into the Gansevoort and hoped that it would be all I expected for over $500 per night....I was wrong...!
On arrival the receptionist was rude and didnt listen to what I was saying...
I then arrived in my room - I had booked a room with a Hudson view, this was not what I got...!
I ...

I'll be back.....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/27/05
Stayed for five nights in early March 2005. I travel to NYC 5-8 times a year on business and was delighted to find my new "favorite". The staff was very efficient and friendly, responding to requests for internet conections, places to eat, "where is" questions, hailing cabs, etc. The roof bar/swimming pool is really fun with a ...

Meatpacking District Must
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/06/04
The hotel stands out as a large beacon right in the middle of the ultra hip Meatpacking district (you can't miss it!). The decor is modern but comfortable, and the rooms are very tastefully done, with just about every gadget and ammenity I can imagine. The staff couldn't be more gracious, helping us sort through the long list of new ...

HOTEL GANSEVOORT IS UNBEATABLE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/24/04
Upon entering you see a well groommed staff that one might assume to be filled with Downtown attitude, yet, when approached these people are probably the frendliest, most professional bunch in any Manhattan hotel. My stay was short but sweet. Free wireless internet, flat-panel tv, rooftop pool, and beautiful people. All for under $400. per night. Probably the best value in the city.

Only stopped in for a drink
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/23/04
Service is nonchalant as though they don't care about you but this is a great place to stop for drink while in the Meatpacking district. The lounge on the top floor gives great views.
