I have eaten here about 3 times. The portions are large. More food than you want so you end up wasting a lot which I didn't care for. The coffee was awful. The service was hit or miss but the staff was mostly friendly. We don't eat there anymore because it just isn't that great. If you want a good breakfast in midtown, try City Dinner on Minnesota. IHOP b Lowes on Tudor, I know its a chain but the coffee is good and the food is too.

The prices are indeed outrageous. It does have "atmosphere". But I wouldn't recommend it just for that. They seated us on the second floor although there were tables open on the main floor. The service was slow and the the waiter didn't have much personality.

I grew up in Ak and spent a lot of time eating a Gwennies. Don't listen to the whiners on here complaining about how their bacon wasn't perfect;) Why would you be so boring as to order freaking bacon you can get at McDonalds when you could order the Reindeer sausage omelette? Great food, and a very nice atmosphere. Very good value for the money. Large portions! Very friendly staff. What else could you ask for at a restaurant?

Terrible service here for breakfast on Friday, May 23rd. This place is such the tourist trap with bad food and bad service. Even when complaining, the manager didn't care. There are other places in Anchorage with better food and service.

Great food. Great atmoshere. Great time. My favorite place in Anchorage. Highly recommend ordering breakfast no matter what time you are there.

Just don't go for the food. The place is funky, full of Alaskan stuff, staff is friendly, but the food sucks. Large portions of sub-standard food. I had breakfast and the sourdough pancakes were burnt. The orange juice was like Tang but even it was watered down. The bacon was OK. Many friends of mine go there but I can't figure out why. The food is awful.
