Want to go backMy wife and I were at Hotel Buena Vista when it first opened. The room and balcony were beautiful, the service excellent, the owner/manager, Ed Pratt, very personable, the food delicious, the location was slightly inconvenient, but perfect for "getting away" from everything yet accessible to wherever you wanted to go. Excellent Place to use as "Home on the road""Our "normal" nice hotel in the US is Hampton Inns. I say that to give you a sense of where we are coming from. This place is at least two steps up from that. The rooms, views, beds, food, etc. are wonderful. Great place to stayThis is a great place to stay for your first or last nights in Costa Rica. They will pick you up and drop you off at the airport. The staff is great and more than helpful. If your room does not have a view, you only need to step outside to enjoy the view of the coffee plantations or city.

A beautiful view!I just returned from another great trip from Costa Rica. I stayed my first and last night at this great small hotel. Reliable transport to/from airport, clean nice rooms, great view and staff that is second to none. We had dinner at Mirador, down the street, which has fabulous views of downtown San Jose and surrounding areas.
