Great food. Great Service. My only complaint is that I couldn't talk the manager into giving me the corn bread recipe, even when I offered to pay for it. My wife and I have eaten there numerous times.

The first time I went to this place was for my frineds re-enlistment breakfast and I've been going back since then. I'm from Mississippi and I no southern food!! They met my expections and I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a laid back meal that reminds them of the way mom do it everyday in my house.

My first time and I LOVE THIS PLACE! I had the corn cake along with baked chicken with cornbread dressing, okra, blackeyed peas(first time and tasty with a bit of spicy mixed in)and mac and cheese(extra cheesy on top). DELISH~ next time I am getting my friend's mashed potatoes/gravy and rice/gravy! The mango lemonade is served in a mason jar ...

Folks, let me tell you... If you need a southern food fix and you are in Tacoma, there is no better place to go than Southern Kitchen. The people are 100% friendly, the food is fantastic, and your bank account won't be drained. A great little restaurant to get your grub on and feel good about it when you leave. You will not be disappointed if you stop and try it out.

It is a great treat to eat at the Southern Kitchen. All the meals I've had over the years have been consistently terrific and it has down home family feel to it. There are many choices of side dishes, the sweet potato is highly recommended. Generally, I eat the fried chicken but I hear the catfish is excellent too

This place may look small from the outside, but the food makes it larger than life! Hands down the BEST restaurant in Tacoma. I am originally from North Carolina, and this place has the closest thing to Grandmas cooking that I can find. If you want to feel like a true southerner, you MUST try the fried catfish, fried okra, and mashed potatoes. Don't forget to get a big mason jar full of sweet tea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
