I just returned from Las Vegas and arrived in Seattle to watch the Mariners play the Twins that afternoon. Not much open on the pier for breakfast, spotted Ivars and enquired about breakfast. I was informed about the Sunday buffet.I did 6 0r 7 buffet's at the better Strip hotels in Vegas and was kinda buffetted out,but relented, paid the $25 for ...

Visiting from Illinois, eating fresh seafood in WA was top on our list. While everyone recommmended Anthony's, (we stayed in Gig Harbor), we liked Ivars much better. Fish was great and atmosphere friendlier. Loved our window seating too. Enjoyed the clam chowder of course. LOVED being able to get Ivars at SeaTac Airport as well, yum!!

The black cod was tender and had a very interesting flavor. The staff was friendly, helpful, and very attentive. The bread seasoned with rosemary was absolutely awesome!

  • Great clam chowder!
    By KristalA, 06/20/07
This place is on a pier and looks to the ferries and waterfront. I didn't know of this place before, but upon visiting my friend in Seattle, she took me here. The place is outside and the menu is huge. Order the fish and chips, its great! The chowder is mind-blowing. But be advised, don't order and then eat your food in the outdoor eating area in the dead of winter! You'll freeze out there!!!! This place is very budget friendly.

  • Fish and Chips on the Seattle Waterfront
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/12/07
The first time my husband brought me to Seattle he insisted that we go to his childhood favorite...Ivars Fish and Chips. We ordered our fish and chips at the outside window and enjoyed eating them while watching the ferries come and go from the terminal. Of course, we had to share the the seagulls. My husband has fond memories of eating at Ivars ...

  • Overblown

I ate at Ivars yesterday, Sept 12, 2006 and found it just 'average'. In fact I didn't care for the combination fish and chips at all. The breading is dry and 'salty' which made the fish dry no matter how much tartar sauce you put on it. The lunch menu is very limted. The chowder was good. I found it over priced, average food, ...

I use to enjoy the Happy Hour menu at the Clam diggers lounge. But I was dissapointed to find out the three piece suddenly turned into the two piece.I use to buy a couple of mixed drinks and have my three piece .I still enjoy the fish,I just eat at your take out stand outside.

  • ...Ivar's has Fabulous Food...
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/05/05
If you're visiting Seattle or nearby Tacoma, stop by Ivar's Restaurant at Pier 54. This place has been around since 1938 and an Emerald City favorite. The seafood is fantastic - fresh salmon, clams and dungeness crab and they have a lot to choose from on their menu. The clam chowder is the best, you gotta try it! It's also located ...

  • The best fish in town
    By MARY, 10/03/05
Ivars is the best place to eat outdoors you have the smell of the ocean, the seagulls flying about catching french fries in flight. No other place can compare to this experience. The food is out of this world. Fast service. The best clam chowder ever made. If you ever visit Seattle this is a must stop.
