Sushi Paradise has the best quality sushi & sashimi. It is definitely worth the wait for food and a table. Watanabe San & Alisa are a piece of the great experience at Sushi Paradise. Good luck trying to get in on karaoke nights. Sushi Paradise is Maui's Best Kept Local Secret!

I am the manager of a japanese restaurant on the mainland, and a sushi addict. I come to Maui once a year for a week, and invariably end up eating at Sushi Paradise almost every night. The quality of fish is impeccable, and actually a good value for the money- order the "Paradise Dinner" and split it w/someone else- it's a lot of ...

I have been a patron...off and on...of this place for a long time. Most of the reviewers say it is the best on Maui, but they are wrong. It is the best in this PART OF THE WORLD...food-wise. Forget about ambience or service. When the chef (and there is only one) says, "I'm busy...can you wait?" you should wait.

They are closed Mondays...and when chef is out of town.

BEST SUSHI IN MAUI. OK, my wife is a self-proclaimed "sushi snob". We live in L.A. and if it's not Nobu, The Hummp or Nak-d Sushi, she's not interested. We ate at Paradise two years ago and have been dreaming about it ever since. After eating there again tonight, we confirmed our deep gratification for a chef (Akira Watanabe) who ...

Easily the best sushi bar on the island. We have been going there for years and have never been disappointed. The quality of the fish, rice and preparation is second to none. He doesn't cover the flavors with sauces (like other places do), but lets the natural tastes out with every bite. We ate at a very famous sushi bar in Sapporo once and ...

Solid performer! After trying another local, and EXPENSIVE sushi place, that was suboptimal (not fresh fish), we wanted badly to eat fresh sashimi/sushi. We read the few reviews from 2006/2005 and decided to give this little place a try...were were not dissapointed! The sushi rolls were tasty, well priced (most under $8.00 dollars) and served ...

  • Good quality, little atmosphere
    By Dan R, 01/05/06
This place is a small hole-in-the-wall in a strip mall and the service is friendly but not quick. The menu is relatively limited, though the sushi quality is quite good (though priced accordingly).

  • You have to eat here!

We usually go to Sensei but our local friends took us here one night.
This is by far the best sushi I've ever had. The fish is so fresh it melts in your mouth. You feel like your in Japan and eating sushi you don't find in most sushi restaurants. Very local, not a tourist attraction. Bye Bye Sensei
