This is one of the top sushi places without going to japan. You have to try all the recommended items first,there all like heaven. I used to live close by and loved the late night half priced sushi. But something called the ocean keeps me from my 5 star sushi place.

My wife and I are from San Francisco, and Sansei had some of the best sushi we've ever had. The prices are fair, the decor was nice, and the service was great, especially if you sit at the sushi bar. I highly recommend Sansei for anyone looking for a break from the normal tourist restaurants in Maui.

They have great sushi at a reasonable price! We loved everything we tried! We go to Maui at least once a year, this restraunt is added to our "must eat at" places while visiting.

This restaurant was awesome. Sushi was excellent! We arrived early for a 6 p.m. reservation and learned there was a discount on all food ordered prior 6 p.m. Ambiance was nice and service friendly. A real gem to find!

Gotta love the atmosphere at Sansei. Nestled in the ritzy area of Kapalua, you get a rauccus style karaoke joint, slinging sushi and good times. A few sake bombs and a few Billy Idol tunes make for an unforgettable expierence. By the way the food is great as well, some traditional and some very modern styled dishes will please any sushi palate.

We were invited to go to Sansei by friends and loved the experience as well as the fabulous sushi - unequaled!

The Rock Dynamite shrimp is very heavy. Very rich. Not to my taste. Sushi is as good as any place I have had in Japan!!!!! Sit at the sushi bar. Talk to the chefs. As for there recomendations. still love their sushi but service and ambiance disappointing. wailea one much better a few years ago when we went there several times. service competent but lackluster... ambiance not as fun as wailea version. no keiki (kids) menu

In my mind, Sansei is the best sushi on the island. They have really fresh fish and serve it either nigiri or maki style (the only thing I didn't like about their sushi was the excessive use of mayo).
