I have been a regular at Kobe for the past year. Due to my addiction for sushi, I have ordered from them at least once a week on average. I knew it wasn't the best sushi around, but I'm a student, and appreciated the moderate pricing.

Sadly, I don't think I will be able to afford this place anymore. They have just raised their ...

Food is OK, but the rude waitress surely makes this a miserable experience for us. The service gets even worse when they see you are using gift certificates from restaurant.com I will never go back to this place!

If you want great food and even greater service, skip this place and go to Cherry Sushi at El Camino and Kiely.

Go for the early bird specials or visit if you have an Entertainment book coupon. The food's not bad at all, though perhaps a bit more Americanized that one would like, but dinners are most reasonable if you go for the early-bird specials (before 6 or 6:30 I think). The decor inside is nice - there's a Koy pond that runs through the restaurant, and a large banquet room off to the side.

Mediocre Americanized Japanese food. If you are looking for exotic or authentic, this isn't it.

  • Rude Waitress

Kobe's is a great restaurant but their Waitress "Anna" was the rudes I ever
encounter. She made my dinning out very unpleasant.I'm a regular and this is the first time I was treaded with such poor service I don't think we will be going back.

I went there to try out based on the 4-star review here. and I got disappointed. The food is not as good as I expected based on a 4-star rating. The sushi roll couldn't even hold for god sake. And the sashimi are not that fresh. The place is very well decorated. But the worst thing of the dinner i had over there is that there are FLIES ...

  • Want good sushi? Try else where
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/13/06
Pros: Good ambience, great for group gathering
    Cons: Average sushi

I enjoy sushi, and I've been to many great sushi places. I tried Kobe once, and I must say that if you want to enjoy great sushi or sashimi, this is not the place for you. They lack the variety of fishes, and the fish isn't that fresh. The sushi rice isn't good, and it's disproportionally larger than the fish that comes with it.

  • Excellent Food, and Ambiance

I am happy to write a positive review for Kobe's, as it is my favorite Sushi Restaurant. Complete with Koy Pond and running water, the ambiance is great, and the food matches it. Honestly, I do not eat sushi as a local would, but the california rolls, ibi, and sashimi (not so much) was of very good quality. I usually pick up a bento box, and ...
