As previously stated here, before my post was pulled (for some reason). My wife and I went here for our anniversary. It was crowded, loud and doesn't have the best entryway. We each had a bowl with one chicken leg (not even a breast) in it and a few small potatos in the sauce along with a few pieces of bread and a few overcooked vegetables. ...

GABRIELLA'S IS THE BEST
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/25/06
Gabriella's cafe has an exciting and full of flavor menu. The resturant is very romantic and you can tell that the owner takes pride in it's food an atmosphere. The art shows are always fantasic featuring local artists. When you come to Santa Cruz you must eat at Gabriella's evry night. The bread is the best bread I have ever tasted. I never miss an opotunity to schedule a trip up North just to go eat at Gabriella's!
Gabriella's is a tiny Italian/American restaurant close to Santa Cruz downtown that's perfect for an evening out. It has the feel of a family owned restaurant - the waitresses are very friendly and knowledge-able and the ambience is very relaxed and homely.
I loved the crab cakes (appetizer). It's a bit on the expensive side (dinner for 2 costs about 70 with a couple glasses of wine).

delicious combinations of unusual ingredients
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/13/04
The menu features numerous daily specials and many unusual and organic ingredients. The food was outstanding. I visited on a Saturday night without a reservation, and as the restaurant looked crowded, I didn't expect to get in, but my party was seated within a few minutes. The service was quite slow, so expect a leisurely meal.
