Not the best restaurant in the area. Very basic menu. sushi and tempura was decent. wasabi quite weak, chicken terrible. Normally do not care about service but when your icecream is served in middle of your dinner that is wrong.
we have done takeout form sushi kuni a few times and have found it to be consistently great. the fish is fresh and tasty and the sushi is generally great. have also had their teriyaki, which is flavorful and cooked well (not overcooked).

Great taste, but typical Japanese value....

Great tasting authentic Japanese cuisine, but offer typical Japanese value. You don't get anything even close to the price you pay for.
Sushi Kuni by far has the best quality fish of any Japanese restaurant that I've been to in the South Bay. Their udon and beef curry (only offered at lunch) are also very good. Menu has a small selection, dining area is small and crowded, and wait time can be long on Friday & Saturday evenings.
