Mediocre food and terrible serviceI dined at Insalata's twice in the last year. Both times, the food has been mediocre and the service has been terrible. The most recent time was to celebrate a family get-together, as a relative had come from Pennsylvania to visit. My mother-in-law suggested Insalata's. Excellent food & service each timeWe eat here frequently and enjoy the food immensely. The service is very attentive without being overbearing. It has an extensive wine list by the glass, but some of them tend to be pricier than other restaurants. The risotto specials are amazing and if they have any specials with scallops you have to order it.
At lunch you have to use the valet, which seems a bit pretentious and costly for San Anselmo. I highly recommend this restaurant.OVERALL
