I travel a lot to E. Bay for work, and have found a great little locally owned chinese restaurant, Jade Palace. Many of the dishes are really outstanding, the restaurant is unpretensious, and the employees are very friendly. I always make time for a trip when in town. Try the beef and broccoli.

I've been going to Jade Palace since I was a kid in the mid 1970's. It's one of the few businesses in Newark that have been around so long. This says something about the food! It is and has always been a family run business and that's the way they make you feel when you get there.
