Went in March 2009 to treat a visiting relative. On the first bite, my mother found a piece of glass in her food. It took her awhile to get the grit of glass out of her teeth. The waitress was trying to be helpful but the restaurant was understaffed. A woman (I guess she was staff) came out and kind of smiled and said is everything okay and ...

Average Service, Average Food: When my favorate steak house, The House of Prime Rib in SF, was completely overbooked with reservations, me and my fiance went to the Dead Fish instead. The over all experince was ok, but there were a few things that really bothered me.
Being a young couple in our early 20s, we were not waited on as vigilently ...

Pros: nice place, decent view (it's not Golden Gate, but still beautiful on a clear night), good food.
Cons: advertised as a unique place, but it turns out it is a chain of your typical med-to-hi-end establishment.

OK food, nice ambiance... but please do NOT go here for special occasions! Service is kind of bad, and it is just too far in the middle of nowhere, you can only look out and see Carquinez bridge, nothing romantic.

Horrible service! I ordered coffee and never got any sugar or cream after asking for it 3 times. Then the server had the audacity to say he would tell the waiter so that he would be better next time. Not sure how that would help me THIS TIME but ok. The food wasn't all that great either...very bland. I won't go back. It is very overated!

My husband and I decided to go early on a Friday to avoid the crowds. We had reservations and were celebrating his retirement. We noticed that upon entry, the restaurant had a smell of dirty wet rags. We should have taken this as a clue to the downhill service we would receive. We ordered the calamari appetizer and cocktails to start with. The ...

I've always wanted to try this place. I ordered the "Dead Fish Stew." The waiter told us it was cioppino. What I received was canned tomato soup with 4 rotten mussels, a small square of cod, a couple of squid, two pieces of calamari and some crab legs. The small bowl sets you back $20. It should have been 20 cents. It was the ...

Took my 94 year old mother for lunch because it was some place she'd always wanted to try. We had a crab salad. At least we thought there was some crab. It was almost laughable there was so little crab. I sent an email to the restaurant later and they wrote back saying they would have someone get back to us as they wanted to make it up to us, but we've never heard from them. WON'T GO BACK AGAIN!

I have loved this place in the past, but I went there a couple of weeks ago and the service was great, but the food wasn't all that great. I got the crab, which wasn't as great as it's been in the past, still good though, but my oysters weren't cooked all the way, which was a bummer. The churd wasn't very good either. Oh, and ...

My husband and I decided to spend out first Valentine's Day as a married couple at The Dead Fish. We had been there once before and the food was to-die-for! We made reservations 2 weeks ahead, and I'm glad we did. When we got to the restaurant, there was a LINE to get into the PARKING LOT. Luckily, the restaurant was courteous enough to ...
