The Fish Market should have been a great experience. Great fish, wonderful service. Stop there. The food was great but the service was terrible, and when point out to the manager, all the manager could do was asked if we like the food.
Dining is more that food. It is coming to a place where one can relax, have wonderful service, ... Yes the food ...

Anyone who is really a seafood person will probably be disappointed by this restaurant. Nothing looked or sounded appetizing and the whole place smelled funny. We sat down and within a minute got up and left...just couldn't do it. The fish market was sad as well. I'm from New York and expected that there would be a better selection of ...
Great service, menu has many choices, quality of food is very good. On the downside I found the prices to be on the high side. Can be very crowded at times, suggest you make reservations. It is one of the best Sea Food Establishments in the Bay Area.

Where oh where is The Great Old Fish Market????
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/08/06
The Fish Market on El Camino Real in Palo Alto is a fixture -- at least it WAS for me and my friends and family to go for a casual delicious high quality seafood meal. But then I went on January 4th for lunch there with my friend Maggie. I bragged to her how I'd been craving The Fish Market's Crab Louis Salad and how GREAT it is! The ...
I guess it all depends on what you are looking for but this wasn't the kind of place I'd like to return to. It was pretty expensive and the portions of food wern't worth the price. I was neither filled nor satisfied when I left this restaurant. On the positive side, we were seated quickly and the service was good.

decent seafood spot, a local favorite
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/29/05
people around these parts love the fish market. and i love fresh fish. so i thought i'd give it a try. i really like the idea of this place--fresh fish prepared in a variety of ways. but i had the blackened fish and it tasted...dirty. wrongly spiced or something. and i was horrified that the fish had a slightly fishy scent to it. great low-key atmosphere, and very family friendly.

A favorite place for seafood

I personally love the salmon. Try the one with the soy glaze on it. That's my favorite. This location is closer, but I have to admit that the one up in Foster City has the best view for outdoor dining that I have been to so far. The tuna satsumi is really yummy too! A great starter to a nice meal.

I have eaten here several times. For the freshness, and the price I think it is great. Oysters are always good here.
