Extremely creative vegetarian fare, but a bit on the pricey side!

For our first visit to Greens, we went on Saturday night and that was a big mistake. Reason being, Saturday nights they don't offer their normal menu but a four course price fix menu at $50 a person. I really really want to like Greens, but it keeps disappointing me. Apart from the spectacular view there's not a lot to recommend it. The entrees are surprisingly dull and overpriced. The desserts are uninspired. There are a great many restaurants in SF that aren't "vegetarian" that have one or two vegetarian options that blow everything here out of the water.

I loved their portabello sandwhich. It's very filling and their desserts are so good. Try the ice cream sandwhich one it has the best ginger snap cookie.

Just because this place is a vegetarian restaurant that does not mean it needs to be stuffy.
