Extremely creative vegetarian fare, but a bit on the pricey side!

We have been to this restaurant several times over the last few years. Most recently, we went on a Sunday night with our 20 month old son. As always, the food was creative and delicious. We loved every bite. The waitstaff was great with our son-they brought him out his meal in only a few minutes and gave him a glass of soy milk "on the ...

I love everything about this restaurant and I don't even call myself a vegetarian.
Go to GREENS and feel confident that you will feel good about it!

For our first visit to Greens, we went on Saturday night and that was a big mistake. Reason being, Saturday nights they don't offer their normal menu but a four course price fix menu at $50 a person. This menu is not worth $50 a person with only four or five menu choices for the second, third and fourth courses. First course is bread, goat ...

The stars are for the view. Mediocre food, terrible service. We waited a hour for our food. When we asked the waitress said "You got your scone. Some people like it for an appetizer". Huh? I really really want to like Greens, but it keeps disappointing me. Apart from the spectacular view there's not a lot to recommend it. The entrees are surprisingly dull and overpriced. The desserts are uninspired. There are a great many restaurants in SF that aren't "vegetarian" that have one or two vegetarian options that blow everything here out of the water.
I loved their portabello sandwhich. It's very filling and their desserts are so good. Try the ice cream sandwhich one it has the best ginger snap cookie.

Stuffy
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/21/06
Just because this place is a vegetarian restaurant that does not mean it needs to be stuffy. I am vegan my daughter is vegetarian. I took her to Greens for her 16th b-day. We arrive few minutes late, the host drops a major attitude and even though the place is almost empty. They seat us at a small table by the window; nice view. The host insists ...

Delicious Vegetarian Eats Overlooking the Gate
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/05/06
Greens has long been a staple of San Francisco. Vegetarian or not, you'll hardly notice, selecting among Greens' ever-changing pallate of inventive offerings that makes vegetarian dining most accessible. Tucked-away inside Fort Mason, the restaurant presents amazing views of the Golden Gate Bridge from most tables on a sunny day -- which is ...
