The steak was wonderful, for $28 got the same steak that is $75 at Ruth Chris's, and all the sides we tried were very good also especially the in season sweet corn, I would recommend this place anytime :D

  • Skip this place

After paying $32 for a new york strip that was awful and having to wait over to an hour and a half to recieve it, I will never go back. I asked about the poor qualify of the steak and the waiter said that they only recieve their meat once a week. I guess Saturday wasn't a good day. Skip it. I've had better food at a BBQ in the park.

  • Not authentic at all...

I lived in Argentina for 14 years, and the food provided at this restaurant is sooo far from the authentic Argentine foods... not recommended.

  • El Raigon must mean "Rude" in Spanish
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/28/06
Actually, that's a joke. I speak Spanish, and I know how to say "rude". I was polite enough not to hurl it, along with all the other adjectives that lept to mind, at the obnoxious hostess, and equally rude "manager"/bartender who greeted and grudgingly apologized to our group. The food is not nearly good enough to make up ...

  • Worth a special trip.
    By Adam Rifkin, 12/04/05
Montana grass-fed beef has a better texture and taste than any other beef I've had -- and El Raigon's methods of preparation are exquisite and delicious. I would make a special trip to eat here.

Watch out for the wine -- it's hit or miss. The desserts looked awesome but I had no room because the steaks were so wonderful.

  • Not your typical steakhouse - in a great way!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/17/05
Fantastic steaks grilled over charcoal & wood. Extremely tasty! For dessert & a great treat, make sure to order the panqueques con dulce (crepes filled with homemade dulce de leche). Don't split it cause you'll be fighting over the last bite!

  • dont bother with mortons
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/17/05
el raigon is the best steak house I have eaten at a long time. the steaks are of normal proportion vs . the new classic steak houses like ruth's chris and mortons. the wine list needs a little help but the steaks are awesome quality and are prepared perfectly. the dishes are a la carte and the basics are prepared with as much care. the ...

  • Excellent Food, Great Deserts, amateur service
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/12/04
It's hard to find a good steak in San Francisco, finally there is a place that knows that starting with high quality beef is the way to do it. Only complaints: Ordered Beef Rare, but it was more medium rare Servers are nice and polite but lack experience
