Excellent food and not *too* expensive. We had seared Hokkaido scallops and fantastic shrimp and corn 'pancakes' for appetizers - the latter are particularly recommended. Both of the entrees we had (shaking beef and blackened sea bass) were also delicious. Cocktails were very good too. Service was attentive, friendly but not over-bearing. All in all - highly recommended.

We have been here several times, both on our own and with out of town guests, and the food is always amazing and delicious. Their wine list is great and the vibe there is nice, especially for a peninsula restaurant! We highly recommend.

I don't know what is up with the reviewer "anh" but he must have gone somwhere else. Chipped bowls? Low grade beef? No way. This is our favorite restaurant in Palo Alto (I just tried getting a reservation for tonight--a Tuesday--for two and all I could get is 5:45 or 8p. How's that for validation?). Their Shaking Beef is to ...

The food is terrible, with barely a trace of Vietnamese and most of which is in the chipped bowls and plates made in Vietnam. The fried rice noodle (with a fancy name that escapes me at the moment) is definitely Chinese chow fun. It is bad Chinese chow fun at that The noodle is too soft, the beef dry and sweet and salty at the same time. It was ...

Absolutely delectable Vietnamese cuisine. Great service paired with an absolutely delicious menu and a cool vibe. My girlfriend took me here for my birthday and we had an absolutely phenomenal night! She's a keeper and Tamarine will always be remembered and considered for our special nights together! :)

Shaking Beef == cows in an earthquake? I'd been planning to try Tamarine for quite a while, and it was well worth the wait. The service was very attentive and the waiter made excellent recommendations (though his suggested entrees happened to correspond to the most expensive items on the menu :P). The Mushroom Rolls made for a great ...

When I walked into this place and looked around, I expected it to be one of those restaurants that was all atmosphere and no substance. I was wrong! The food was quite delicious! Service was a little slow, but I was with a large group and we were there on a Saturday night. Normally I'm not into Asian-fusion type of restaurants but I'm glad ...
This restaurant has a NYC vibe for me. You forget that you are in Palo Alto. The food is delicious and they are great at suggesting phenomenal wine pairings.

Great dining for special occasion or business
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/15/07
Great place for a special occasion or a business dinner. Interesting, unique and tasty menu - not heavy. Sharing encouraged. Great wine list, good martinis. Professional and friendly service. Good accoustics so not drowned out by neighbors' conversations. Good vegetarian content. Never served a dish I didn't like. Section of the ...

Excellent fried Bass fish
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/05/07
The bass fish was the most memorable dish here at Tamarine. This place is very expensive and usually needs a reservation.
