NEVER NEVER NEVER do the rude staff at the California St the favor of eating at their location. I've been going to Elizas for 15 years and when I moved started going to the California St. location. I had my LAST experience with inconsistant food (and I get the same thing every time), worse service and very big attitute -- I'll spend my money elsewhere and I guess others will too. Friday night restaurant was not even 1/4 full.

We've lived in Honolulu and visited Hong Kong several times, Eliza's has to be one of the best real chinese places around. I love the food and the service is always great!

What a disappointment! I have been dining here for 10 yrs and just had a meal that was not up to snuff. The beef with black bean sauce was just a bunch of zucchini and onions, no green peppers, and not much beef. The Hunan fish was some kind of frozen fillets and this dish tasted like cardboard mush. We think that the chef had a night off and left the dishwashers to cook.

My friends family owns the restaurant. They named it after her. It has to be one of the best real chinese places around. I love the food and the service is always great!
I've been coming here with friends and family for years. The food is fantastic; fresh, flavorful and creative. Try Mango Beef or the Spicy Tangy Chicken and absolutely order their vegetable fried rice. Small personal touches in their unique dishes, recipes, decor and even bathroom make this place very special.

Good food... Bad service...

I have to say that the food is very good, but their customer service is awful. I frequent the Eliza's on 18th St in Potrero Hill often, but not as often as we used to. It's a complete turn off when paying a lot of money for dinner -- and then being waited on by a rude waiter or waitress. They are impatient and seem to get extremely ...

Fake Chinese food, not my favorite
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/18/05
Eliza's has been voted best Chinese place in San Francisco on more than one occasion. In a city that's packed with incredible Chinese eateries, that's really a travesty. Eliza's is sort of a watered-down version of Chinese food. It's not offensive per se, but it's not particularly exciting either. In addition, as is the rule ...
