just decent vietnamese food for the mission district. i wouldn't call it 100% authentic vietnamese, but then i can understand that they have to tone down a bit for americans taste. it used to be a better restaurant and one of the greatest bargains in that area many years ago until it got more popular. nowadays, the price has gone up while ...

the food here is alright. not vietnamese. didn't really feel japanese either. if you're looking for mystery "asian" food, it might work. fusion, fusion, fusion of who knows what.

Terrible experience. We ordered food and they brought us a dish we hadn't ordered, then refused to changed it. Plus I saw a couple of roaches in the kitchen. BEWARE
...always crowded, but good service. Conveniently located within 2 minutes from 16th/Mission BART.

Sunflower offers good vietnamese dishes, but the one thing we always order is the Combination Appetizer with beef. This is one of those dishes you'll go back for time and again. The beef is tasty and perfectly stir-fried, served over thin rice noodles. This also comes with fried eggrolls, mint leaves, sliced cucumber, lettuce leaves and rice ...

SunFlower - A really good Vietnamese restaurant
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/06/06
I've not yet been to Vietnam so I can't speak to the authenticity, but the fresh spring rolls and the steamed sea bass are excellent. Just be prepared to wait a bit long for your food if you order the sea bass - but it's worth it.

simple but wonderful

Upon entry, you are usually greeted by a very enthusiastic waiter who is so happy to see you. The food is fantastic and super cheap, making it a perfect haunt for regular meals. I strongly recommend the Shankin' Beef and the Lemongrass Tofu - wonderful dishes that just make your tummy happy.
