The appetitizer platter is a great way to sample many different dishes. The olives, the fetta cheese and the riblets were excellent. It went very well with the aperitif lillet blonde. The duck was okay but a bit dry. It's easy to find parking and get a table on Sundays.

The food is bad, but at least it's expensive

My wife and I ate here, and it was one of the worst meals we've ever had. The wine, which was a $45 Pinot Noir, was so sweet it was like drinking grape juice. It didn't taste like wine at all. My steak was supposed to be medium rare but came out well done. The harissa sauce that ...

  • New York Style
    By John, 11/28/06
I'm a recent arrival from N.Y. I'm so glad I stumbled onto Paul K , it's just what I've been missing from home. It's very similar to NY neighborhood haunts. Innovative food and a very comfortable bar. We stop in for small plates at the bar along with a a glass of wine that we've not heard of before.

  • Really Rude
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/02/06
Called in to make a reservation and the person taking reservations was so rude and condescending.

  • Great Service and atmosphere
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/04/06
The service at Paul K is top notch. However, the food is lacking compared to the service level. For the price, I expected a little bit more from the food. It is not bad, but not impressive. The food seems to have the intent for a fusion of california and the mediteranean. Everything on the menu was well prepared, but I didn't feel it deserves special attention.

  • Basic food, expensive
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/17/06
Went there on a week-end for diner - the food was good, but for the price you pay, it's basic. for the same price, you can eat much better in the city. 2 of us, had just 1 main dish each, 1 beer, 1 glass of red wine and a bottle of water, and that was $100. also, the atmosphere isn't that great. the tables are really close to each other. try somewhere else if you can.

  • Favourite late night dining
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/09/05
We love eating here several times a month -- usually after 10 (easy to make reservations on opentable) staff is super friendly and we've always enjoyed every meal -- menu changes but the huckelberry creme brulee is the best!

nice bar too if you just want to get a drink pre/post symphony

  • Not the place if you have kids
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/27/05
I know that Paul K maybe isn't the place for kids, but when asked the server said that it was OK, then proceeded to ignore us for a while, except for occasional dirty looks. Everyone in the restaraunt was interested in our daughter, and some even wanted to play with her but we got the distinct feeling that we weren't wanted there. I'd stay away if you have kids

  • Great food and ambience
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/17/04
I ordered the duck which was recommended by the waiter - fantastic. Also tasted the tuna which was equally good. Overall, the food was great with a comfortable, but stylish, ambience. Service was attentive, but not overbearing.
