The Flea St Cafe has wonderful ambience. Beautiful colors and low intimate lighting. The ambiance is to hopefully set you up for a fantastic dining experience. Unfortunately that is where the "ambiance" ends. I had the duck, and if you like tough unchewable meat this is the dish for you. To replace this uneatable meal I had the chicken. I ...

  • Superb Dining Experience
    By Soph, 11/22/06
Our first visit Tuesday night was absolutely excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed everything, from the appetizers and salads to the entrees and dessert. Not one thing disappointed, which is surprising since I'm generally considered a particular and epicurean eater. Everything was well prepared and tasted amazingly fresh. The atmosphere is ...

  • Great, Local, Organic Cookin'
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/24/06
Flea street is a favorite. I love the ingredients that this restaurant uses. All local, very organic. Everything is fresh. The atmosphere is a bit subdued, but it has charm. Their biscuits are to die for!

  • Romantic, calming, just lovely
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/02/06
I didn't know what to expect other than organic and sustainably farmed food. However, Flea St Cafe turned out to be really lovely. It was cosy, quiet and intimate and rather romantic. Because it was April Fool's, they had a joke menu that included items such as "dirty sock soup" and wilted rotten green salad. The waiters were ...

  • Great idea, disappointing execution
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/29/06
I really like the concept - a restaurant that serves dishes from local, organic food. As a vegetarian I had high hopes. However the options were pretty limited for vegetarians, and the food was mediocre especially considering the price. The service was also not good. I'm going to seriously think twice before going back.

  • Amazing experience at the Flea Street Cafe
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/20/05
You would not think of going there (based on the location)... But Flea Street Cafe is an amazing restaurant. The atmosphere is calm and the decor is very classy and sophisticated. The organic menu is diverse, and everything we had was delicious and perfect: we went for a couple of appetizers and the salmon salad. The 'fried' vegetables were ...

  • My favorite restaurant
    By sean, 07/29/05
Without question my favorite restaurant on the pennisula. The owner/chef Jesse has put together a truly excellent restaurant that offers excellent orgainc cuisine along with outstanding (but not stuffy) service. I would highly recommend this restaurant for any special occasion dining.

  • Best Kept Secret
    By Lynn, 07/22/05
Most people don't immediately think of Flea St. Cafe when planning a great dining experience on the peninsula, but they should! This is a romantic (but not stuffy) restaurant serving creative dishes made the best-quality, organic ingredients. I've eaten here a handful of times and have always left very happy.
