Pretty Bad. Basically, they don't have bottles of wine mentioned on the carte. We have been obliged to change our choice 5 times to finish with an expensive bottle from the wrong year!! The waiter kept pushing us to order more food. When he comes to serve water, he splashed water everywhere. The place is very noisy The food was OK

OVERALL
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/21/08
I went here for dinner with a group of friend's friends and the experience was about average.
I ordered the free-range chicken with red-wine sauce. The sauce does not have the red-wine flavor *not very obvious*. The chicken though does have a little bit of flavoring but I think it was way way way way overcook that the meat was kind of dry ...

Did not live up to expectations
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/14/07
Left Bank markets itself as a french restaurant with delicious food that is fabulously presented in a charming upscale environment. Sadly their marketing and the actual truth do not match. While the environment of Left Bank is very nice, the waiters were very slow and the food left a lot to be desired. The skirt stead was burnt and the prawn dish ...

Don't Eat the Bread!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/02/07
Everything was good until I witnessed the bus staff taking bread that had been on other tables and putting it back in the bread bin. The bread that we didn't use was put directly into another basket along with some other pieces and brought to another table. This seemed like a normal practice! Unfortunately, that lost my future business.

Great in Menlo Park
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/30/06
Left Bank is a chain, so your experience may differ from one to the next. My favorite is Menlo Park, where you must traverse the thinnest steep stairs in the world to get to the bathroom. The dining room has a wonderful high ceiling, and, although this provides for a roomy atmosphere, it is nearly impossible to hear what anyone is saying. That ...
Even a bit new york like - not great food but good style for a place in the valley.

great prix fixe, yummy chicken!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/03/05
in the mood for tasty french food? you could do a lot worse than left bank. they've got solid offerings from an insanely moist roast chicken to an assortment of salads and seafood dishes. the lunchtime prix fixe is an amazing value: soup or salad + entree and dessert for $20. the sorbet here is delicious--light and fresh.

Decent brasserie fare, but not exactly authentic
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/19/05
The Left Bank is a great "standby" restaurant, when you've got the kids and you aren't sure where to go. They do have excellent fries, and the onion soup is pretty good. But, you'll never have a truly memorable meal there -- just decent fuel to get you through the day.

Fun French Bistro
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/16/05
The restaurant has great ambiance with massive French posters, high ceilings, an open kitchen. I've been here a number of occasions and there's always a bustling scene and the service is excellent. The menu is simple yet there's plenty of choice.
