The only good thing about this place was the outdoor courtyard. We love Tapas and have been to many different places. We ordered 8 different small plates and only one of them was good....not even great just good.
The service was awful...they add on 19% to your tab even for a party of 2.
The waitress last Saturday during the day had not personality, mumbled when she talked and was so slow.
Way better places than this one.

I finally had an occasion to bring me here. And I had no notion how large and cozy it is inside. What a surprise! You can eat tapas in lounge chairs in front of a fireplace!! My only hesitation was that tapas are such small dishes and price adds up quickly...we weren't quite sated despite many dishes ordered.

Iberia is my favorite Spanish restaurant in the Bay Area. At one point my wife and I went to Iberia every other week for an entire summer. The ambiance is fantastic and my favorite place thing to do is to eat tapas at the bar. In the main dining room my favorite dish is the "gambas al ajillo". Because we are regulars, our service is ...

  • Great tapas at the bar

The bar, with a newly added back room and patio, is a great place to sample wines and a wide selection of excellent tapas. You can also order from the full restaurant menu.

Not a lot of people think of this as a "must try" but really is a surprise even to those who are long time locals. The atmosphere is great and has a cozy tapas bar and a patio for dinner that is very pleasant when the weather is nice. The food is consistently excellent both tapas and main menu.
The staff is not always consistent but never had a bad experience.

  • the worst service
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/30/06
I had dinner there on a friday night, and while the restaurant was not busy the service was HORRIBLE! From the bartender to the servers - everyone was incompetent- and worst of all they add 19% tip to all tabs. A total insult. The food was just average and truly the only thing going for this restaurant was the ambiance- what a disappointment

  • Excellent tapa for a great price
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/03/05
Iberia Restaurant is awkwardly located behind the Menlo Park train station, but it's worth the cross to other side of the tracks. We went to the bar area for tapas and had a delicious meal. Most tapas are under $4 each and the selection we had were incredibly tasty. Service was a bit slow, but very friendly. I will definitely go back!

  • Best Tapas on the Peninsula
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/31/05
A out of a way place behind the Menlo Park train station, Iberia has the best tapas on the peninsula. Tapas is only served in the bar area. Be sure to walk all the way back in the bar and sit next to the fireplace. The rooms remind you of being in a chalet. One of the best tapas dishes is the deviled dates which are dates wrapped in bacon and ...
