Have traveled and dined all over. It is hard to beat this place for value, consistent quality and ambiance. Sit in the patio on a sunny day or starry night and you could be in Tuscany or St.Tropez. I know "romantic" is over used, but this is like being in a great foreign film.

Casanova is a fine restaurant with prices to match. The ambience is great. The staff are first rate and the wine cellar is truly outstanding. The sea bass at $45 was excellent, but overpriced. I had mussels and pommes frittes for $33. The muscles were plump and meaty in a subtle broth, and the pommes frittes were just fun to eat. Excellent ...

Casanova was a delightful surprise. We actually ate there twice in one weekend because it was so good. First, order whatever is their soup of the day. It's made daily and very tasty. Their breads and tapenade is so good, we needed to hold back on getting extra bread because we'd get full just off of that. Both times my lady ordered the ...
Although the ambiance is charming, the 3 course fixed price dinner menu lacks creativity, taste, & appeal, but is high on pricing. My spouse's $35 TINY half chicken breast was dismal, w a poor accompaniment of sour veggies. My 3 mini cannelloni would have been ok at a local pizza place for $12. At $34., it was ridiculous. Food....not worth the 33-49 bucks a plate...they boast 3 courses but one course is a bunch of marinated olives, cucumbers and hummus and one course ...

A taste of southern france
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/17/06
Casanova has been around for decades, but has long been a family favorite. The southern European ambiance and flavors, transplant you from Carmel village to Southern France for a few hours.
Try the lobster ravioli (if they still have it), and the baked mushroom appetizer.
We have lunch at Casanova everytime we are in town about once a month.
We love their price fixed lunches that include salads, breads and dipping sauce, grilled fresh fish or other choices and dessert! All this in the charming decor and for 20 dollars! The place seems to be filled with regulars who know each other. Wish their wines by the ...
