This restaurant is so tiny that it's very difficult to find, we missed it once even after staff gave us directions on the phone. Inside, it's cramped and not particularly nicely decorated or inviting, so we decided not to stay although the staff was very friendly. The food might be good, but if you are looking for a nice evening with out-of-town visitors, go somewhere else. Oh, it's right next to the railroad tracks, too.

We've eaten at El Mexicali on several occasions and even taken guests from out of town there too. It's a tiny place that shakes a bit when the trains go by with great food and good service. I don't remember the name of their "famous" appetizer, but it's popular for good reason. It's a yellow pepper stuffed with shrimp - delicioso! Of course the other food is good too
