I go to Berta's every time I visit San Diego. Haven't had a bad dish yet, or even a boring one. The menu offers dishes from all over Latin America, so it's incredibly diverse (it's NOT a Mexican restaurant, so don't be surprised to find different flavors than you're used to). The lamb and pork are fantastic. Friends of mine love the seafood too.

If you appreciate black fuzzies in your salsa and dispersed throughout your plate, this is the restaurant for you!! Black fuzzies aside, the food was particularly bland. Isn't latin food supposed to be filled with flavor? Pupusas- deep fried??
