This place is the GREAT. Been going there for 40+ years (and my parents for 10 years before that) - STILL family owned & ultra friendly. If you think you've had the best shrimp tempura ANYWHERE, Saska's will beat it. AND, they know beef - they used to raise their own for the restaurant - get the Duke, but be hungry. Get a Saska burger ...

Went there (party of 6 including 2 small children) two nights ago at about 7:00 PM. The restaurant was packed but they managed to find us a table in 5 minutes. At this poing we were fairly content at this point. Waitress was friendly, but just a little rushed due to how busy it was. Things took a turn for the worse at about 9:00 PM when our food ...

We took a chance becasue I liked the idea of a rooftop beach style restaurant. First though there was no hostess to seat us or even show us to the rooftop bar area, but we found it ourselves. The bartender was cool, although after he took our drink order we had a female waitress take over and the service dwindled. Slow service, and when the ...

Not a very positive experience at this place. Service is slow and when it came time to taking our order, the bartender was rude. I asked for hot tea and the little white tea pot for hot water was dirty, we had to ask for napkins and utensils so we can eat our food and stir my hot tea with something. Customer service is apparently at the bottom of ...

Still Cranking...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/03/07
Out with friends, in search of good food & hungering for memories, we walked into an old haunt in Mission Beach the other night. Saska’s was rocking & they were obviously understaffed, but they never stepped it up.( 1 server per room, no attendant & a host/manager). We must have waited for 30 minutes for someone to come around. No offence to the ...

Nastiest waitress I've ever met
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/20/06
We went to this famous old Mission Bay restaurant as a tribute to a recently deceased relative who used to take us there. We were a large group on a quiet night, and I've never had worse serice. The waitress cold, aloof, and only nice at the end, when tip-time was coming. Food was so-so, but EVERYONE in my party remarked how this place isn't what it used to be.

Excellent Beach Dining
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/24/06
Saska's is one of the very best places in San Diego for dinner. Located in the heart of Mission Beach. Saska's serves delicious Crab Chowder.
It has an old beach atmosphere feel and sports a nice fireplace which makes for a cozy dinner with friends, family or dating. There is also a bar for drinks. The prime Rib is ...
