When I first moved to San Diego (After spending most of my adult life as a New Yorker) I found it to be a cultural wasteland. And by that, I really meant, the restaurants really sucked. (sucked being a technical term of course.)
There was a general theme. Mediocre food, prepared in a mediocre style and a complete absence of professional wait ...

Stumbled on the bad review by Bob and had to write! This is one of the best Italian places I've found in SD (other is Il Fornaio on Coronado), and I am picky. I've been there many times and yes, it can get crowded and yes, sometimes the service could be a little better, but other times they go above and beyond! Food is very good, ...

Best Italian food in San Diego
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/07/07
My favorite Italian restaurant. The food is wonderful, with delicious daily specials. The ambience is warm and romantic, usually with piano music on weekends. You also have the option to dine on the patio. Its great for a date.

They have a small bar in another room where you can grab some cocktails, wine, or some beer while your waiting to be seated. After trying their Rigatoni, i must say it's the best I've simply ever had. Now when I ...
The food, service, ambiance, and value were all excellent! My husband and I make a date to Old Venice at least once a month. We definately recommend this restaurant. By the way - Pizza and wine is the BEST combination!
