My husband, 18 month old and I ate at this restaurant 08/09/08 and had a very very BAD time there. I thought it was going to be a good place because I saw an episode of Rachael Ray and she happens to visit the restaurant so I thought to myself we can’t go wrong, but it did. First of all when they seated us I noticed water was already placed at ...

To put it bluntly: UNSANITARY and RUDE SERVICE. I used to frequent this location but after several bad experiences I'm never coming back. Tonight, my mother ordered a salad, when it came the leaves were slightly spoiled, dressing was awful and worst of all: a two inch piece of rancid RAW CHICKEN was floating at the bottom of the salad. When we ...

Very surprised that this restaurant, having such a good reputation, served the worst tasting Mexican food ever! Even the salsa was bland and we are not big on spicy food but our meals had no taste at all. Know that when ordering a burrito ONLY the carne asada burrito comes with rice and beans inside. The Chili Rellano was terrible as was the Mahi ...

Not a good place to go eat if you are looking for authentic Mexican food. The food had no taste and is over priced. To top it off the service was even worse. Would have gone to Taco Bell insted.

Old Town Mexican Cafe is a fine place to enjoy Cal-Mex food-service is excellent-fine quality food-atmosphere is pleasant for dining-not noisy-you can carry a conversation with your friends-my chicken mole was great-better than any chicken mole served in Houston's finest Mexican establishments-I highly recommend the place to visitors to San Diego who enjoy Mexican food.

Well, even for us locals...we go to this "touristy" part of San Diego. The handmade tortillas are still the same...dee-liscious. Corn for me, thanks. Pancake breakfast was good too! Menudo, Mole, Queso con Rajas...yum! The Old Town Pollo (charbroiled chicken) is good. You gotta try the carnitas, crispy and shredded......yeah! The BEST ...

The food here is not authentic. It is dry and bland and is absolutley not authentic.Did I mention that. The handmade tortillas are not as good as they once were.People think it's real mexican cuisine but it's americanized mexican cuisine more like it.20 years ago this was the place to eat at.Now it's just a taco bell with a hostess and service.

This was the best Mexican food I've ever tasted!!! They make handmade tortillas right in the front, and they are so good!! Their salsa is great and their Mexican rice and enchiladas are unbelievable!! It's always busy there, so you have to wait, but it's well worth it!! Sometimes the service is a little slow, but the food makes up for it. Overall, this is a great place to go to, and the best Mexican in Old Town!!
This was my favorite place to eat but now its not very good. Got sick on an omlette an I may not return again will find another place to eat breakfast.

Maybe once upon a long time ago this place was good. But now, the service is non-existant and, worse, the food is not good. I had carnitas - dry, dry, dry. Real poor experience.
