My husband ate in this restaurant years ago and wanted me to try it with him. We stopped in there on a Saturday evening out when we had a babysitter. I was happy with the ambiance, convivial atmosphere and friendly greeting. Interesting out-of-the-way location for sure, but the beer was ice cold and the menu very unique. We ordered the fried ...

My overall experience at this restaurant was a fun one and I like the mom-and-pop feel of the place.

Having my food served right on the table(no plates, clambake-style) and being given a mallet and the use of my hands to eat with (and no one being concerned about the mess) made me feel like a kid again.

All the seafood (king crab, blue crab, ...

AWESOME! great food, fast and helpful service. They asked if it was our first time and since it was they explained the differences between types of crabs and specials (and they even gave us a funny bumper sticker when we left). The food is seasoned really well and is very delicious! Everything from the sausage (mine was plump and juicy, not sure ...

I love the place. A bucket of fresh seafood, potatoes and sausage.A lot more great food than you could get at somewhere like Red Lobster and the prices are resonable. The service is a bit inconsistent, but it has never been horrible. Mmmm my mouth is watering just thinking about it. I guess I know where I am eating tonight.

Went there on 11/10/07. It is a very interesting place, a fun place to go--especially for kids--but overpriced. I took out of town guests there and I'm glad I picked up the check. They enjoyed it, we liked it, but I'm glad my brother-in-law didn't have to split the bill.

There are good-sized portions of seafood served right on ...

  • Best Seafood ever!
    By Uhuhh, 01/30/07
I took my family here for dinner. My dad is full Filipino and loves Crab he is also retired Navy. He hates the fact a lot of places serve Crab Legs cold and don't serve enough of it. When he walked in he was drawn to all the Navy and Coast Guard Memorablia, then he found out they serve Crab legs HOT and you can eat it with your fingers he was ...

  • Big Disappointment
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/22/06
I've heard about this restaurant and couldn't wait to try it. I was so disappointed I will never go back. The potatoes and sausage were tasteless and dry, didn't care for the peel it yourself shrimp, the crab was so, so. Don't know what the big deal about this place but I for one have been there and now done that.

  • Margarine With Your Crab Anyone?
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/26/06
Yes, if you are a local then you for sure have probably heard of Sandcrab Cafe.
Only the true food connoiseur would realize they serve all of their crab and sourdough bread with MARGARINE.
We thought we would give it a whirl again this past week. I asked the server if they had butter instead of MARGARINE and she said "No". I asked what ...

  • Seafood EXCELLENCE!!!
    By Heidi, 09/20/05
This place was recommended by a dear friend!! The food here has ALWAYS been worth writing home about. There seems to only be one flaky brunette waitress that tends to forget you are not there to watch her chase butterflies, but if you have time to spare, it is well worth the experience. And you will be back for more- GUARANTEED!! Very reasonably priced for the quality, you will not be disappointed.
