Took my family from Toronto there at the recommendation from a friend. Good service. Ambiance and decor was very pleasing. Food was excellent. Ordered individual menu items which included Peking Duck and Fresh Steamed Fish not the "Wa choy" or prefixed family menu. Much more quiet and peaceful than most Chinese restaurant. Prices ...

  • I have to go back!!
    By katherine, 04/30/07
We went for our after tax season luncheon, we had made reservations for 13 and were seated at once. The staff was very quick to make more seats available, we needed 2 more. The food was served quickly and steaming hot. They cleaned away empty dishes quickly and kept more comming. It was deliceous. I will definately go back.

  • The price does not match the value
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/27/07
I think the restaurant is more designed towards wider patronage including both Chinese and non-Chinese customers.

The ordering system is like the new Hong Kong style that you order first, then they make (supposedly) and serve. However the menu items are not a whole lot that you have many choices. Food is better than average, but there are ...

  • Best Places are in San Gabriel
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/18/07
C'mon. Everyone should know by now that the best Chinese food is in San Gabriel. Mission 261 is one of the best in decor, service, and food of course. This is also the only place customers can have dimsum on the outside patio.

  • The best dim sum in SoCal!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/21/06
The best dim sum in SoCal for a little more money than your average Chinese restaurant. It's definitely worth the extra cost! Service is good, the food is always fresh and very delicious. Make sure you save room for the desserts.

  • really just OK
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/07/06
Before I write this I need to say that I went to Mission 261 on New Years Day and only an hour before the restaurant stopped serving Dim Sum...so maybe this review is not quite fair.

I will say the service was VERY good. Plenty of servers, each was knowledgeable and friendly. When they were out of a particular dish, the waiter was quick to offer ...

  • Could be better
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/09/05
Different than your usual chinese restaurants that serves dim sum. They have more selections to choose. The food is also very fresh. Other than that it's nothing special. Service was not worth the price of the meal. Maybe you can tell your waiters/managers to smile a bit next time.

Finally, why are your hot dim sums served luke warm?

  • This was a disappointment

Mission 261 was a disappointment. We made reservations and still had to wait an hour. The food was cold and the waiters were rude.

  • It is a big dispointment for such nice place.
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/05/05
Well decorated, beautiful dinning area and bar. We went with group of dim-sum loving friends on a Sunday morning. After standing for 45 minutes, finally got a table, waited for another 10 minutes just to get a pot of tea. Finally our order was taken by a hostile waiter. our tea pot was taken by another waiter which never returned. 20 minutes later, ...
