So Ernie's being listed as "best mexican food in LA" on the Yahoo links is a joke, right? Ernie's is okay. It's like the perfect form of cheezy average American style mexican food with nothing too fresh or exciting to worry anyone from the midwest. If you're with visitors who are afraid of Mexican food, this would be an alright place.
