I read Kaminari's positive reviews and thought, "Maybe I ate during a bad night for them?" My husband and I, who are sushi afficionados, were not impressed with their fish. Some of the fish smelled, well, fishy. Their sushi cuts were larger which was nice but, when you're eating fish that isn't truly "fresh," it doesn't matter whether the cuts are large or small.

I come here often for lunch and love that it's never too crowded to get a table. The service is fast and the food is great. Their spicy tuna is the best I've ever had, there is just something about it. Give this place a try - you'll enjoy it.

I happened across Kaminari Sushi last night, as it is an unlikely location for amazing sushi. To say I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. This is the place in Westlake to go for quality sashimi cuts (including some very rare specials like blue fin tuna) and innovative hand rolls. The sushi chefs are artists working with the best ingredients around. A great place, we'll definitely become regulars.
