This once small but now expanded, due to its popularity, deli style cafe serves excellent sandwiches and pasteries. It's crowded and busy, grab a number it's worth the wait! I reccommend the pastelitos, cuban style pork sandwiches and the desserts can satisfy your sweet tooth. Enjoy!!

Goodness this place is soo GOOOD! Everyday it's packed with people from ordering pastries, baked goodies, cakes and sandwiches. It's a Cuban bakery with the right flair for Southern Californians. They are known for best cakes, pastries etc. Definitely a place you must pay a visit.

I absolutely love your restaurant and food! The Only thing that is a litttle bad though, is that so many people love your food, it's crowded! :)

Did not like the service. People are rude and have no patients.
Id rather try some other place that doesnt have problems with people that just want to sit and eat.
DO NOT VISIT.

Portos is a commercial bakery. It has mexican, salvadorean ets. pastries and breads mixed in with some other types of pastries. It is not exclusively a Cuban Artisan bakery or pastry shop. Their cakes are made from commercial boxed mixes.
In pre-castro Cuba, there were many artisan bakeries that made everything from scratch. Oh, my childhood ...

Where to start? The must-get items for me are the guava cheese streudel, potato ball, meat pie and chocolate croissant. I get one of each every time I go. Every dessert I've tried has been very good (triple chocolate mousse, e.g.), and the medianoche sandwich hit the spot on a Saturday afternoon.
The place is always packed, but the line ...

I love Porto's. I go there and bear the long lines, because at least on the cafe side it moves very fast. Also, I have called multiple times to place orders and have never had anyone be rude, ever! Actually, I am surprised at how nice they are when dealing with my stupid questions. I'm sure there could be some employees with bad customer service, but I have not encountered them.
Porto's addict right here :)
