Comments about horrible service are not credible. The staff is very professional. The steaks are excellent. The side dishes (which are huge) are yummy. I also don't get the "country club" comment from a previous post. My favorite "reservation" is not to make one and ask to sit at the counter. Not a guarantee but it ...

horrible service!! if you dont look rich or belong to the local country club then you will not be treated like the regulars. the waiter didnt take us seriously, had to ask someone else to get him to tend to our table. the food is over rated and over priced. your better off going to houstons or JJ's. those two places treat you like you should be treated, and the food is wayyyy better!!

Horrible experience and bad service on 12/01/2007: I've never seen such an upscale restaurant with such poor service. The food was ok but the heater was not on all of the time and the room was so cold..we just had to eat fast and leave. Unfortunately I left my most expensive scaff- (with silk and wool each side) in the chair and we thought to ...

  • Overrated steakhouse in SG Valley
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/14/07
Overrated steakhouse in the San Gabriel Valley faces little competition. Limited choices around the Pasadena region makes most of Smith Bros restaurants the monopoly of "fine dining".

  • Bad service
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/19/06
I've never seen an upscale restaurant with such poor service. The hostess and manager had absolutely no people skills and got the visit off to a bad start. The food was ok, but Ruth Chris has outstanding service and is a much better restaurant overall. I would not waste my time or money at Arroyo Chop House again.

I love this concept, and the salad bar is really gourmet. I will not eat for a couple days before my next rip, to make room to eat even more.

Fantastic steaks delivered in a nice setting, so you can't be all that surprised at the cost.

  • Disappointing experience
    By Geoff, 05/18/06
We had a very disappointing experience at Arroyo Chop House. The service was poor, my $45 lobster tail was tough and flavorless, the white wine was served warm. Our first visit will likely be our last.
