While the 'Olde English' feel to The Whale & Ale is quite nice, as are the Ale selections, I feel the food served is over rated. I ordered what should've been one of thier best dishes, Fish & Chips, and found it a greasy, limp, and tepid mess. It had obviously been microwaved, and not very well. That said, my Guinness was very good. Zagat rated ? Big Wow.

I have been going to the Whale & Ale since they opened and have gotten to know Andrew a bit. Like any place, there will be nights when they are short staffed or something, that causes a meal to be less than perfect. They are generally 5 * in my book so I can forgive them! Top notch!

The price mentions $9.95 - 21, but in fact there are many excellent selections during lunch starting at $7. Pasta, seafood, fish and chips. Excellent curry. They even offer Union Jack newspapers at the entrance for the patrons.
