I don't even think the food at Alejo's could be classified as Italian food. It isn't.

Like all the previous reviews - Just a GREAT NEIGHBORHOOD ITALIAN EATERY!
You just can't beat their PAELLA (Fri & Sat after 5P only) .. .. It's hard enough to find it in LA, much less good Paella, but this is the place .. ..
And also, don't forget the terrific Italian dishes here .. ..
How do you tell a good neighborhood joint?
Just look at the line outside after 5P on most nights!!

Little known fact: man who started Alejo's (passed away) was a chef for La Scala. He and his wife opened the original (still open) at Lincoln and Washington. It is literally a "hole in the wall". Consistently good food, huge portions, good service, the perfect neighborhood restaurant.

Overated... so-so food. Lackluster service. Much more serious flavor and presentation across the street @ Italy's Little Kitchen. See for yourself.

Food, service and prices are very good. They also have a separate dining room that we used for a couple of co-workers retirement luncheons, staff was very helpful with pre-ordering our food and everything went pretty smoothly.
Definitely for garlic lovers. I was introduced to Alejo's' by a friend that also loves garlic. Thanks AV.

this place is really good, good service, really good food, but a little warning, IF YOU DON'T LIKE GARLIC, DON'T GO! everything has a lot of garlic, which is good for me....
I love this place and ate there weekly and it still comes up 5 stars for price, quality and service. Line up, it's worth the wait.

Tasty without being too classy.

Good food, good prices, and you can bring your own wine! Plus, you can show up there, get a table, and have a nice meal without getting any hassle or pressure from the staff. Very family-oriented atmosphere and homemade food. Check it out!
