Chalo's is by far better Mexican food than any other place in the Gila Valley. The resteraunt could use some repairs, but the staff is generally pleasant. Beware tho, the plates are usually always screaming HOT! Don't let the kids or babies touch them.

At one time, I loved Chalo's. The salsa and beans were excellent. My favorite was the Green Chili Chimi spicy. It was once filled with green onions and moist pork. They became popular because their salsa was different (it's the cumin). Food is average.

I've gotten sick after eating there twice. I go there sparingly. Can be dirty at times.

This used to be our favorite place but not any more. The last three times we went there the food was hot on the out side and very cold on the inside.
Our new favorite place is La Casita in Thatcher. Very good very fresh made food.

Most Authentic

It definitely has the most authentic tasting mexican food, with La Casita a close second. Several friends have reported their order being forgotten about when I tell them about when it happened to us. Unfortunately, mine happened when they brought me the wrong order, and my wife finished eating in the 20 minutes that it took to get my order back to me. Good food, but the service is a little hit and miss.
