The Red Lion is an absolutely charming restaurant from the moment you walk in. Located in Boulder Canyon with great views of the mountains and even glimpses of wildlife. We were treated to deer grazing right outside our window as we enjoyed our dinner. We were greeted by Paul the Maitre'D who was very helpful throughout our visit. Our ...

We are were visiting from the east and discovered this beautiful historic restaurant nestled in the mountains just outside Boulder, Colorado. The atmosphere can't be topped. Beautiful views overlooking the mountains and a lovely stream. A second dining room feels like a Bavarian lodge with 2 charming fireplaces. The food was excellent and an ...

    Don’t waste your money

This place is not horrible it is just way over priced.

Paid about $50. a meal for a $10 quality, the soup tasted like it was from a big industrial can the bread was cheap grocery store bread and the stack was just you average steak.

For $50 you can get a 4 star meal at Red you pay $50 and get a $10 poor quality dinner type meal.

If you are lucky enough to be planning a wedding, this is THE place to do it! Besides having one of the most beautiful settings on earth, they have delicious food and the most helpful, kind staff I've ever encountered. Even if you're just dropping in for dinner, I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time. BUT, as far as long-term ...

The red lion in is located 3 miles up the Boulder canyon; it is in an older building next to Boulder creek. The rooms are small with not many windows but the lighting is OK.

I ordered the filet mignon and soup, to start with they brought out bread rolls that were very plain and tasted like cheap grocery store picnic rolls very bland and ...

  • Great place with unique menu
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/09/06
We love places like this when its done right, and it is. The menu is outstanding and the food top notch. We had the Quail with Huckleberry sauce, which was the best I have had. We also had the Wild Boar, which can be tough to prepare, but was done perfectly. Staff was top notch and great service.
