I visited this establishment one Saturday and the waitress was very rude. I will not return.

I don't care what all the other reviews here say because they're all wrong. Hickory House is GREAT! The ribs are the best I've ever had (dry rub can take itself to the highway) and they LITERALLY have won awards for their sauce. The wait staff is average, but the quality of the food totally eclipses that. The portions are huge so ...

Good atmosphere. The BBQ is OK. I have had better in Texas, however, the food is still good. Interesting margaritas, I cannot tell you if they are good or bad because I cannot figure it out. Weird.

the ribs are ok, I found them tender, but the sauces average....I asked if they had a dry rub and I got a confused look by two waitstaff. They didn't know what I was talking about. This is Rib 101 stuff. Anyway, it wasn't bad, I tried the catfish and the membranes were still not cooked and a horrible job frying them. The place isn't bad, but if you are from the South, you will be disappointed. I am from MS, New Orleans, AL and FL.

I actually love the onion rings and the pulled pork sandwiches, but I am lucky if I actually get those when I order them. The last two times we have gotten take out (the service in the restaurant stinks, so we don't eat in) they have gotten our order wrong! Their fix was to send us a gift certificate worth 1/4th of what we had ordered!! The food is usually decent, but I don't think it's worth it to pay for such lowsy service.

First of all, I'm not crazy about the ribs despite Oprah's claim that they are the best in the Country. We always enjoy watching a game and eating some great food. I would recommend this place to anyone.
