While traveling through Texas the middle of February, my husband and I purposely went out of our way to eat at the Salt Lick, which we had seen on the Travel Channel. The Salt Lick in Round Rock is horrible. Served greasy. Poor service. Will never go back. Tastes like its cooked in an oven with sweet sauce poored all over it. Very over rated.

I think, for the price, that the BBQ there is way over-rated. The ribs are good, but they could have a greater variety of side dishes. I'm so tired of beans and slaw or potato salad. We had a favorite place in Dallas...Spring Creek BBQ. They offered baked potatoes and fresh salads. Oh well, The Salt Lick is just average, over-priced and the benches are uncomfortable.

The salt lick is one of the best bbq places around! Not only was the service good but was it TASTY!!!!! The food came out perfect and on time! It was worth the drive... WE didnt regret IT!!!!!
