I think The Reef is a great value. Although it is expensive on the regular menu, the Cajun fried catfish on the lunch menu is excellent and there is enough to make another meal for me! I also love the hush puppies served as an "appetizer". They have lots of flavor and are never dry.

I've always liked the Reef. Every seafood resturant tastes are different. For a local taste for seafood it is very good. The service is slow but The Reef is not a fast food drive thru! The bathrooms need attention from the staff and the owner. I will eat at The Reef again. Remember, a tip depends on the service not the cook.

The stuffed shrimp at The Reef was akin to eating moldy sawdust wrapped in sandpaper. After 3 attempts at eating there both my wife and I said that was enough.

  • This place was awful

First, there were only 5 customers in the whole place which should have been my hint this place was not good. The service was very slow, but with only 5 customers I didn't understand why. I didn't get my complete order and when I got the food it was tasteless and the portions are extremely small. They even serve the meals on plates that are ...

  • Great Experience

My husband went for a job interview at Texas City, we wanted to eat somewhere special while we was in TC. When we got to The Reef Seafood House we expected it to much more expensive than it was. The food was the best we have had in a long time. The serving size was so large that we ate the left overs for supper. If you are ever in Texas City area diffently try out this place.

The hush puppy appetizers were so good that I almost filled up on them--that is, until the fried seafood platter came...I found room to finish it. Superb! The atmosphere upon entering this establishment set the stage for an extremely enjoyable experience. I found the service to be just fine--not intrusive, but just an occasional check to see if we ...

The ALL-U-CAN-EAT is THE BEST. we ate at the Reef on 11/28/06 at 6p.m. We will not eat seafood anywhere else now. The all you can eat was the best I've had in years. The people were so friendly. A little expencive but well worth it. I'm taking my wife back tonight. See Ya there!!!!!!!!

We went to The Reef - Friday night for dinner but we did not eat there; my son who has eaten at the Reef and the Older Fisherman's Reef since it opened tried to order a $16.00 meal for his 2 daughters and was told that there would be a $3.00 surcharge for sharing - We left and will not go back - there were not very many people there for a Friday night and now we know why!!!

My husband and I live in League City and we drive to eat here. It is great. I remember the first time he took me and we keep going back now for 4 years. Great food at a reasonable price.
