  • a local place with tourist appeal
    By sesquipedalian_24@sbcglobal.net, 06/23/07
i ate the Big Breakfast and was not even remotely hungry when i left. we had a party of seven, including a child, and we were all more than satisfied with our choices. everything was delicious with the homemade appeal. i will definitely be bringing friends and relatives when we visit again.

  • Great quality food - but pricy

Great sandwiches - they use quality products consistantly, but expect to be in the $10 range for a sandwich and tea.

  • Good food, good location
    By Todd P, 06/30/06
The food @ Sunflower is an excellent lunch option. Check the specials, they are usually a very good choice. The salad plate (choice of three salads) or any sandwich (all on homemade bread) are also good options. The inside dining room can get loud, so if the weather is nice sit outside. The service is usally OK, but you never really know until you get there. Excellent dessert menu.

  • Great place very upscale.
    By A Yahoo! Contributer, 05/06/06
The SunFlower Bakery chicken is very good. We sat on the patio and the weather and service was very good. The ambiance is similar to West U and Heights in Houston, but better with the gulf breeze. We have already referred several people and they enjoyed it. One of the best places in Galveston.

  • Great Lunch stop.

Yeah the service may not be all that, but they make up for it with fresh baked breads, desserts, and the homemade strawberry lemonade!!!! When I need something quick to eat I go there for the turkey, bacon, and advocado on honey wheat bread, the dipped pecan pie, and of course the homemade strawberry lemonade. (Just the thought makes me want to go to the gym!!) Try those and more, you'll agree!

  • Sunflower's customer service is not good.
    By weddingbows2000, 04/26/06
I stood there for 5 minutes while four people just stood around, and two were folding napkins. Then finally someone came and looked at me, then decided that I needed some help. I ordered some cookies, and they were ok. Just ok.
The cashier was rude and assuming. The food is ok, the customer service can be a lot better.. A WHOLE LOT BETTER!

  • I plan on going back for more
    By Tina N, 02/27/06
I discovered this restaurant when my parents came into town for a visit with me. And I have to say that was a very cozy restaurant that you feel comfortable in and at home. And their freshly baked sweets are divine!! I plan on going back for more and trying my luck at the rest of the menu!!! ^__^
