If you only have one day in Lima you should definitely visit Museo Larco. They have a collection of Ancient Erotic pottery from several thousand years ago. It's unlike anything you've ever seen in Peru. They also have a very nice restaurant, Cafe del Museo. www.museolarco.org
Also, dont miss the Plaza de Armas, Huaca Pucllana, and Barrio Chino which are also interesting parts of this enormous city.

Lima is amazing
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 07/18/08
First of all I would like to make a comment about the person who wrote the review "nothing especial". You obviously do not know what you are talking about. First thing, learn how to spell and write properly, I would if I was writing something for everyone to see. Second, Lima is a city in South America, it has a colonial style and full ...

nothing especial
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 07/02/08
Lima is not a modern place, they are far away in technology or convinience. There markets, comunications, transportation, cars are like Cuban. You can see all kind of all stuff around. They still have there own brands, with very poor quality but very nacionalistic. The city is very populated and the weather is miserable. The food is amazing and is ...

Lima is it. It is my second home.
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 03/20/08
Lima is hard for foreigners (like me) to get used to, but I lived there for 2 years. I absolutely love the place. The people are wonderful, and they appreciate it when you just try to learn a little Spanish. The culture, family values and friendships there are wonderful parts of the country.
I lived there for 2 years as an expat. I met my ...

Where else can you see lofty snow-capped mountains, exotic jungle and sand dunes, if not Peru? Peruvian food is world class...a mixture of Spanish, Indian, Chinese, African, Italian. You will have a veritable culinary experience in Peru. This is "soul food" at its best! The people: Peruvian people have a big heart and the word ...

Lima is a fun city
By Mirki, 08/03/06
Lima is rich in culture, from Pre Incas cultures to Spanish colonial. The weather is mild. Summer (Dec-March) is around 70-80 Farenheit and winter (July-Sep)is around 55-60 Farenheit. It never rains and it is cloudy and foggy. The sky is grey and it has a nostalgic look. The city is dusty because there is no rain. It is strange, but it never rains. ...

Love Peru but go to Cusco
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 06/22/06
Lima is a nice city but watch what parts of the city you go to; they are not all safe. When I was there last year we had a police office tell us that we were in a un-safe area for tourists & we should leave. This area of town was feature in a travel book. I LOVE Peru -- but there is much more in Cusco...

A city full of history!
By tom_ward_gb, 05/09/06
Lima is a city full of history. Peruvian food, particularly the seafood is really good. The city is always covered with clouds, which gives it a special atmosphere. A nice place to visit.
