  • Hated Bogota
    By Mercedes, 02/12/09
Bogota might be a nice place to visit temporarily and may impress a short-term visitor with its skyscrapers and trendy malls, but we certainly did not like our extended stay there. First of all it is highly polluted. The city busses pour chemicals into the air every time they come to a stop. The motorists are terrible and will actually speed up ...

  • Bogota
    By Nguyenthi, 10/18/08
Bogotá was a typical colonial city in the beginning, but around the turn of the 20th century. France's influence is evident in many of the palaces built during this period. Residential areas show English influence in houses built during the mid-20th century. And finally, one can feel the United States' influence in the new skyscrapers and ...

  • Best south american capital
    By jc, 07/04/08
First time to Bogota and everything was a surprise after the other, from the larger than life avenues to luxury malls, great cuisine, spring-ish/chill mostly overcast weather, the north city is extremely wealthy and expensive in contrast from the south part and the "invaciones" (poor barrios). We encounters no safety issues whatsoever ...

  • Get Ready
    By M. P, 05/22/08
For an adventure you will not soon forget. This city of over eight million people will transport you to extremes, from the extreme wealth in the north to the extreme poverty in the south. In between you will find a cosmopolitan combination of just about anything you might wish to find. Pay attention and stay long enough to understand that chaos ...

    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/23/07
Bogota is a beautiful city full of contrast. The people where extremily nice and the activities are out of this world. I recomend going to "La Zona Roza". There you will find great restaurants, bars, pubs, shopping malls, food festivals, night clubs, antique shops... Best part is that you can stay out and party till 5 am non stop. Other ...

  • an amazing city!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/20/07
We were in Bogota in June and had a great time.
Our lodging was in the Nicolas Federer neighborhood and we enjoyed walking to the Galerias across the street. The Colombians are very friendly and nice. I liked hanging out and eating in Carullah (the Whold Foods Market of Colombia). Salto De La Angel was great with fantastic music and beautiful ...

  • Had a great time....
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/11/07
People are friendly, very attractive women and the Transmilenio was convenient. Monserrate was nice and the Gold Museum was awsome. La Candelaria very scenic. Northen Bogota was plenty of fancy shopping centers & boutiques. Just Be cautious of your surroundings and belongings, a lot of pickpockets & thieves. What was horrendous was Bogota traffic and in general everyone drives like homicidal maniacs. there is no respect for pedestrians.
