I've been to Madison a few times to visit friends and other times for work related activities. I always love going back. People there are different, but in a good way. It's the one place where you can have hippies and rednecks sharing the same places. It has one of the most beautiful state capitols in the country. The farmers market is ...

I couldn't think of a city that has a place in my heart less, and yes I've already been to Madison. The people are weird, and stare at you for no reason.

Bring something to do! I could not have been more bored. I guess I should have just went shopping for cheese or beer. I can only hope that my friend moves after next semester

BIT ME. Madison is a liberal oasis in a desert that is the Midwest!!!
The only reason I live here is that every other state and/or city, which has been most, lacks the heart felt reality I feel here. The majority of people have a real acceptance of others around them. Yes, Madison is not a real large city, but it has so much character, beauty, and community. Madison provides a loving home for freaks and weirdos like ...

unpleasant memory

I drove many hours to visit that capitol and got a parking ticket there, because I parked not far enough from a curb. it ruins all my mood of holidays. That is the way they welcome a tourist. Madison is a "fine" place as they said, they don't have a better way tocollect money.
I grew up just outside of Madison so going "downtown" was usually a treat. Madison has some really good restaurants - check out foodfightinc.com for the more well known ones. There is a lot of great ethnic food too - and usually it's very well priced. State Street has great food - some fun shopping - not fabulous - but it's ...

What are these people on?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/17/06
I visit Madison all the time, and will be moving there shortly to attend college, and all I can say is that I love it. As one of the reviews said, they are very accepting of people, even strange looking people like myself. As for the people that had all the bad reviews, I don't get where they would come up with these completely off-beat ...
We only came for the wedding of a friend...and I don't think it's a destination I would have otherwise chosen. The downtown is kinda-sorta interesting in that "we have a college here" sort of way, the capitol building is quite impressive, and the farmers' market was gigantic.
